A Saturday morning fire that claimed the lives of two people is under investigation.

The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a fire at the 3400 block of Old Louisville Road. When deputies arrived they found two deceased victims. The Richmond County Coroner was on the scene and the Criminal Investigation Division also responded to the scene, according to RCSO.

Coroner Mark Bowen said both victims were pronounced dead at the scene and an autopsy will be conducted on both. The time of death was 6:20 a.m.

The investigation is ongoing and no other information is available at this time.
