“The Columbia County School District is monitoring the impact of the winter weather in our area, working closely with our local emergency management and weather officials. Given current predictions, schools and before/after-school daycare programs will continue to operate as normal at this time on Friday, Jan. 21. However, all after-school activities for Friday have been cancelled due to the possible winter precipitation and unsafe travel conditions,” a news release said. “We will continue to monitor conditions and encourage our public to visit our website, social media channels, and local media outlets for updates.”
In Richmond County, the schools will move to the early release schedule. Also “due to the inclement weather projections, the Boys and Girls Club, Family Y PrimeTime, and Jessye Norman School of the Arts Afterschool Programs will not operate tomorrow. Augusta Parks and Recreation Loud Crowd Afterschool Program will operate as scheduled.”
Aiken County schools have moved to an e-learning/remote school day for students on Jan. 21
