Richmond County Sheriff Eugene Brantley was recognized by the Georgia Police Benevolent Association (PBA) this week for his outstanding leadership and service.

Patrick Cullinan of the Georgia PBA presented the award during the sheriff’s weekly Command Staff meeting, praising Brantley for prioritizing employee well-being and fostering a culture of respect within the agency.

Cullinan noted key accomplishments under Brantley’s leadership since he officially took office on Jan. 1, including a 28% drop in Part I crimes and a reduction in injury-related traffic crashes. He also highlighted Brantley’s efforts to secure pay raises for agency staff, without seeking a salary increase for himself.

“Sheriff Brantley’s commitment to his team and the community is the mark of a true leader,” said Cullinan.

In accepting the award, Brantley credited the agency’s success to his staff. “This recognition belongs to the men and women of the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office,” he said. “Their dedication to this community is what drives our progress.”

In a statement, the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office thanked the Georgia PBA for its ongoing support.
