Shooting at Augusta Mexican restaurant leaves one dead

The fatal shooting took place outside El Presidente, located at 2 8th Street.

Richmond County authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred Friday night in the parking lot of El Presidente, located at 2 8th Street.

Upon arrival, deputies from the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office found an individual who had been shot multiple times outside the Mexican restaurant. The victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene, sheriff’s Sgt. John Perry said in a press release.

The victim was identified as Arthur Braxton, 32, from Storm Branch Road in Aiken.

A second individual has been detained for questioning, and investigators are actively working to gather more details about the incident.
