Shooting at local apartment complex sends one to hospital

A man has been transported to Augusta University Medical Center with serious injuries following a shooting at Norris Place Apartments, according to the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department.

The shooting occurred around 8:30 Tuesday night at the apartment complex located at 1931 Murphy Road, according to an email from the department’s public information officer.

“Upon arrival, Deputies found a male victim that had been shot at least once,” the email stated. “The victim has been transported to AUMC with serious injuries.” 

No other information was available at this time.
