Shooting under investigation in North Augusta

North Augusta Public Safety officers are currently on the scene of a shooting in downtown North Augusta, according to the public safety Facebook page.

Georgia Avenue is blocked from Buena Vista to Spring Grove Roads, according to the post which was made around 5:23 p.m. Thursday.

Mike Adams, photographer for The Augusta Press, was walking his dog when he came on the scene and shot a photo of the police cars. He said multiple police vehicles were on the scene.

“Somebody told me there was an overturned vehicle at Martintown and Georgia Avenue,” he said.

Adams also said people heard multiple gunshots in the area.
