Missing child, who was in back of car when it was stolen Tuesday, has been located; suspect still at large

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office has recovered a 6-year-old boy who was taken when a vehicle was stolen. Kashous Gordon has been located.  He is safe and unharmed. Deputies are still searching for the vehicle and the suspect, according to an email from Capt. Eric Abdullah of the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office.

A 6 year-old boy was in the back of a vehicle when it was stolen Tuesday.

The Aiken County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s assistance for any information on the whereabouts of a four-door black 2019 Kia Optima with Georgia license plate CRR9108.

Rahem Laquan Devoe, 31, of 5412 Jefferson Davis Hwy. took the vehicle around 8:13 p.m. Tuesday, according to an email form the sheriff’s office.

The 6 year old boy is Kashous Gordon, a black male, wearing a black hoodie, brown pants and black shoes. He was seated in the backseat when the car was stolen.

Devoe is presumed to be armed with a handgun and is not related to the child.

Devoe, 31, is 5-foot-11-inches tall and weighs approximately 270 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.

 This investigation in on-going and updates will be sent out as they become available, according to the email.
