SPLOST 8 Gets Voter Approval

As of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday night with all precincts reporting, the ‘yes’ vote for SPLOST was overwhelmingly approved with over 70% of the vote. Just over 8,000 ballots were cast in what was an extremely low voter turnout SPLOST. Just over 2,500 ballots were cast early and 265 mail-in ballots according to results posted on the Richmond County Board of Elections Facebook Page. Just under 6.00% of the electorate voted.
