SRMC awards students in family scholarships

Date: April 22, 2024

Savannah River Mission Completion (SRMC) has recently awarded 17 students with college scholarships. These students are children of SRMC employees.

Each high school senior received a scholarship of $4,000. The application process required an essay submission, their grade point average, and their leadership and scholarship achievement. To qualify, students needed to attend a four-year college or a technical school in the fall.

These students were recognized during SRMC’s annual Family Scholarship award banquet, which took place on March 26.

“This program is highly anticipated each year by SRMC parents with children preparing to enter college,” said Dr. Dave Olsen, SRMC president and program manager. “My favorite part of the process is its culmination, the moment that I am face-to-face with the recipients witnessing their enthusiasm and talking to them about their promising futures as their proud parents stand at their sides. It’s very heartwarming.”
