The Augusta GreenJackets has recently announced that a hurricane relief supply drive-thru will be hosted at SRP Park Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or while supplies last.

The South Carolina Minor League Baseball community has come together as the Charleston RiverDogs, Columbia Fireflies, Greenville Drive and Myrtle Beach Pelican have been hosting several Hurricane Helen disaster relief supply drives this week in support of both the Augusta and Asheville communities.

“Thanks to their generosity we will have a tractor trailer full of donations to be given out while supplies,” stated a press release from the Augusta GreenJackets.

The supply drive-thru will be set up by the Clubhouse Entrance of SRP Park, located at 187 Railroad Ave., in North Augusta, S.C.

Signage will be set up to direct locals to drive down Center Street as drivers enter Riverside Village for the drive-thru giveaway.

Items available will include:

  • Water and sports drinks
  • Dry food
  • Cups
  • Paper good
  • Kids items (diapers and baby food)
  • Pet food

“Seeing our fellow Minor League Baseball Communities come together in support of the CSRA and Asheville communities is overwhelming,” said GreenJackets Vice President Tom Denlinger. “Our front office staff looks forward to seeing [everyone] on the 12th, and invites you to spread the word to those that are in need to swing by.”

The community is also invited to attend SRP Park on Oct. 12 and 13 for the Annual Complete Game Fall Classic Tournament. Games start at 9 a.m.

Daily admission is $15 while kids aged 10 and under are free.

“As part of the tournament the community is invited to staff the bins by the main entrance of SRP Park with canned food for the Golden Harvest Food Bank,” stated a press release from the Augusta GreenJackets.
