SRP wins Columbia County Chamber’s Large Business of the Year Award

Date: February 15, 2025

SRP Federal Credit Union was Columbia County’s big winner, last week, after the Chamber of Commerce honored it with its Large Business of the Year Award.

The Columbia County Chamber of Commerce celebrated 20 years, on Feb. 6, in its Annual Award Banquet, which recognizes local businesses for their community impact.

Southpaw Roofing, for example, received the Small Business of the Year Award for 2024, while Columbia County Foundation for Children took the Non-Profit of the Year Award.

“Every aspect of our operations is centered around People Helping People,” said SRP CEO Eric Jenkins, lauding staff, management, the board of directors and the credit union’s relationship with its member-owners for its win that night. “Our holistic approach to business is at the heart of our continued success and allows us to make a lasting difference in the communities we call home.”

SRP donated nearly $1 million to various initiatives, and employees volunteered more than 6,500 hours in 2024. The credit union is also a partner with the Downtown Development Authority and Augusta Technical College in their development of Accelerate Augusta, the downtown microenterprise center and small business incubator, expected to complete construction in open later this year.

“We strive to make a difference every day as your local credit union, and we are truly honored to be recognized as the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce’s 2024 Large Business of the Year,” Jenkins said. “Good things are happening at SRP!”
