Public Information Officer Jason DeHart said four firefighters had been treated on the scene and one was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. It is believed all were suffering from smoke inhalation.

At one point, the crews had to go unit by unit to contain the fire. It was contained by 11:30 a.m.

One of the approximately seven rows of storage units was involved in the fire. There are about 70 units in each row. It is not yet known how many were involved in the fire, nor is the extent of damage to the units known. Crews began the process of salvage and overhauling the units about 12:30 p.m.

The entrance to the business remains blocked.

“Anyone with rental units should wait until the company calls them to inspect their unit. There is no access to them currently,” DeHart said.

Cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
