SWAT team called in domestic dispute

A large police presence was felt on Hunter Street Monday as Richmond County deputies and SWAT were called in reference to a domestic dispute with shots fired.

The call came in at 11:57 a.m. Upon arrival, deputies learned that Terrell Crawford Jr., 23, had fired shots during an argument with his family, according to an email from Sgt. William McCarty with Richmond County Sheriff’s Office.

No injures were reported, and family members fled the scene.

Crawford, who is wanted for a previous aggravated assault, was thought to have been inside the residence.

Deputies secured a perimeter and the SWAT team entered the residence. SWAT team members did a search, but Crawford was not found.

The investigation is ongoing.
