Columbia County officials announced a rescheduled temporary lane closure at the intersection of Furys Ferry Road and Mullikin Road as part of the ongoing roadway-widening project.

According to the county, the right-turn lane from Mullikin Road onto Furys Ferry Road will be closed from 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 30, until 6 a.m. Friday, Oct. 31, weather permitting.

The closure, conducted in cooperation with E.R. Snell, is necessary to accommodate construction work in the area, according to a press release from Columbia County.

Drivers are urged to use caution when approaching the work zone. The county advises motorists to slow down, allow extra distance between vehicles, watch for advance warning signs, and obey road crew flaggers.

“If possible, please plan to take an alternate route and/or allow additional time for commuting during this timeframe,” the Columbia County press release stated.
