Kevin Boyd, city of Augusta development services manager, said, “The current zoning of B-2 (General Business) supports the proposed use. No public meetings are required to establish the business”

Boyd continued to say that the project’s engineer will be responsible for revising the plans for final approval.

According to Surcheros’ website, Georgia native Luke Christian opened the first restaurants in his hometown of Douglas, Ga. in 2007. The word spread, and suddenly, others desired to open Surcheros locations throughout the state.

Attempts to contact Christian or Surcheros corporate have been unsuccessful.
