New CSRA businesses are celebrating their new foothold in the CSRA as the month of October winds down.

On Friday, the Columbia County Chamber of Commerce hosted the ribbon-cutting of the Evans franchise of the Amazing Lashes Studio beauty salon. The styling studio specializes in custom and designer eyelashes as well as beauty care products, and has more than 270 locations across 30 states. Its Evans site opened earlier this year in Ste. 102 of the Legacy Building at 444 N. Belair Rd.

On Wednesday, Oct. 26, the chamber will host the groundbreaking for the Mosaic Center, a facility for offering social services such as financial training, substance abuse recovery, help for families with special needs children and assistance obtaining a GED. The coordinated care program, launched in 2017, was born out of care ministries of the Mosaic Church in Evans.

The groundbreaking will be at the church’s location at 478 Columbia Industrial Boulevard in Evans.

Next Friday, Oct. 28 at noon, the chamber will host the grand opening of Buff City Soap. With more than 80 locations throughout the country, the store offers handcrafted bar soaps, bath bombs, body scrubs and other grooming items, all made in-store daily. The shop opened in Evans last month, at the Mullins Crossing Shopping Center. The ribbon cutting will be at that location, at 4225 Washington Rd., Ste. 3.

Also that Friday, at 10 a.m., the Development Authority of Downtown Augusta will host the ribbon-cutting ceremony of business center and networking lounge 10Twenty-Eight. Natonia Tillman opened the members-only city club and collaborative workspace in March as a means for local entrepreneurs, artists and professionals to work, conduct business, host events and make connections. The business itself, however, started last year, hosting networking events. After the ribbon-cutting will be at the center’s location at 1028 Broad St., 10Twenty-Eight will host a red carpet gala event, celebrating its one-year anniversary, that evening at 7 p.m.
