Start Mother’s Day with a sparkle.
Mother’s Day is right around the corner, so we hope you have something special up your sleeve. Your first order of business is to give Mom a day off from cooking by taking her to brunch/lunch. And nothing says, “I love you, mom,” more than a mimosa. But not just any mimosa will do on this special holiday. You need a mimosa with a certain je ne sais quoi. I’ve put together a list of three restaurants whose non-traditional mimosas are sure to make Mom feel like the queen that she is.

Located at 465 Railroad Ave #100 in North Augusta is DiVino Ristorante Italiano.
While DiVino offers a classic mimosa, our favorite is the blueberry mimosa (by request). The splash of blueberry vodka and the fresh blueberries give this drink a burst of panache.
Mimosas are available as a single glass or in a multi-serving carafe. Outside dining is available with delicious brunch fare. Call (803) 426-8675 for reservations.
Another great mimosa spot is The Hammond’s Ferry Larder, 89 Crystal Lake Dr., North Augusta.

Mimosas at The Larder stand out because they can be served as a flight of four unique three-ounce taster-sized glasses. The flavors vary from week to week, but some of the usual suspects are peach, cranberry and hibiscus. Sipping such a variety of flavors increases how fun mimosas can be.

These fabulous flavors can be enjoyed outside with The Larder’s delicious brunch fare. The Larder is not currently accepting reservations, but you can walk the Greeneway as you await notification by text. For more information, call (803) 599-5149.
On the Augusta side of the Savannah River, try Whiskey Bar Kitchen at 1048 Broad St.

“THE” mimosa at Whiskey Bar is somewhat clandestine and on a need-to-know basis, but I cajoled bartender Brittney to blow the cover off the secret ingredients: whipped creme vodka and pomegranate liqueur. Best of all, this mimosa comes with the guarantee that Mom will have a very, very Happy Mother’s Day.

Enjoy it outdoors with one of Whiskey Bar’s burgers; they are among the best in Augusta. Whiskey Bar doesn’t take reservations, but you can enjoy Augusta’s fabulous public art while you wait.
