Date: December 06, 2022

The third of five murder suspects wanted in a fatal shooting at Olmstead Homes was captured Monday, authorities said.

Jaquez Davis, 21, was jailed on charges of murder and weapon possession in the Oct. 15 shooting death of 22-year-old Kyan Michael Bowie. He is also being held for probation and parole as well as a state court bench warrant.

Victim Kyan Bowie

Bowie was shot around 9:20 p.m. Oct. 15 at 2126 B Street in Olmstead Homes. The Hephzibah man died shortly after someone in a private vehicle rushed him to Augusta University Medical Center.

At least one defendant told authorities that the victim was not the intended target and was accidentally shot while one of them was firing near Olmstead Homes.

Evyn O’Conner, 18 of Beech Island, and Diriuss Redd Jr., 17, of Augusta, have already been charged in the murder. Jamari Williams, 19, and Lawrence Stephens, 19, are still being sought.

Jaquez Davis has a history of arrests in Richmond County, including a 2019 arrest for entering an automobile (probation), a 2019 arrest for theft by receiving stolen property (probation), and two traffic charges for driving without a license (pending).
