In an effort to keep you informed, the Richmond County School System and the Office of Public Safety were notified this morning of an online threat that was received last night against several schools. In collaboration with the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office, the school system is investigating to identify the source of the threat. At this time, the threat has been determined to be unsubstantiated. The school system, the Office of School Safety, and the Richmond County Sheriff’s Office take all threats seriously and will continue to investigate.
Parents, please take this opportunity to speak to your child about the importance of school safety and the appropriateness of their actions. Also, please remind your student(s) about the Richmond County School System Tip Line, which is always available to receive and address their concerns about safety of our schools, students and staff.
