The Augusta Commission will again take up the license status of Tiffany’s Eatery, recommended for suspension by the Richmond County sheriff, and a few other debated items at its regular meeting Tuesday.
The sheriff’s office has twice appeared before commissioners to detail problems observed at the Broad Street venue including serving alcohol after hours, violating food sales minimum requirements and condoning fighting and smoking.
The commission will hear concerns from homeowner DaCara Brown Myers about an application for commission letters of support or the Villages of Meadowbrook Phase II at 3255 Deans Bridge Road.
The Augusta Housing Authority senior complex is under development by principals from Walton Communities. The application had committee approval last week. Phase I had 236 non-age restricted units.
The commission will give final approval to Operation: Clean City Clean-Up, a collaboration involving the mayor’s office, sheriff’s and marshal’s office and court officials that will provide community service hours. It received committee approval last week.
The commission will give final approval to revising the city’s speed hump policy. Instead of homeowners, 51% percent of home occupants will now be required to support an application.
In a new item from Administrator Tameka Allen, the commission will be asked to renew an intergovernmental agreement with the Augusta Coliseum Authority for $120,000.
The agreement allows Clyburn Consulting LLC to continue government relations and federal lobbying services that have previously yielded more than $12 million in funding for city infrastructure projects, according to the agenda item.
The commission will vote on hiring UHY Advisors Mid-Atlantic, Inc., to conduct a detailed audit of the Recreation and Parks Department. The commission has twice put the audit out for bids and failed to approve UHY last year, then a committee vote was postponed last week after losing its quorum.
