North Augusta residents had a chance on Saturday morning to pick out a Christmas tree at Tinseltown Forest, presented by North Augusta Forward (NAF).
North Augusta Forward, a campaign to improve the quality of life of North Augustans through community events, reintroduced the holiday event for a second year this weekend.
“The primary element of this is that people can grab their Christmas trees and their wreaths and start shopping, grabbing their gifts,” said Kristi Sykes, director of programs with NAF.
Along with fresh cut fir trees, guests were able to buy wreaths, s’mores and local made goods while making Christmas ornaments and listening to live music performances by Luke Moore, Alto Pablo, Jaycie Ward, The Henrys and Voxnbass.
Out and about after Thanksgiving
Lobster Dog manager Stephanie Gross said she’s enjoyed vending at multiple NAF events.
“It’s always a really good time, a good crowd…we always look forward to getting to this side of North Augusta and we always have a really good time,” she said.
Anna Gordon said she was headed to Cavalier’s Coffeehouse for breakfast before a visit to the Greenway when she noticed the event and decided to stick around.
“We saw this and it was a great little pop up…[it’s] great to see everyone out and about after Thanksgiving,” she said. “I think it’s a great thing to happen in North Augusta…I thought it was cute. I thought it was great.”

Upcoming events
NAF’s upcoming holiday events include a 12 days of Christmas event from Dec. 1 – Dec. 12, in which the community can enter each day to win a prize package from the Downtown North Augusta Merchant Alliance.
To enter, make a purchase at a participating downtown North Augusta business between Dec. 1-12, take a photo of your receipt and scan the QR code near the register for a chance to win a prize of $500 or more.
NAF is also hosting a Cocoa and Cookie Crawl on Dec. 3 after the city tree lighting event. More information about upcoming events can be found on the NAF website.
