Tractor Supply Co. store proposed in Evans

Date: November 22, 2024

A new Tractor Supply Co. store may be coming to Columbia County.

Last month, real estate firm Farmer & Associates of Aiken submitted a request to rezone an undeveloped 3.8-acre parcel in Evans near the intersection of Washington and Blanchard roads. The application lists its address as “0 Washington Road,” but the parcel ID corresponds to the address 4687 Washington Road.

The narrative document states the developer is seeking to change the property’s zoning from Neighborhood Commercial (C-1) to General Commercial (C-2) to accommodate the outdoor sales yard and items typical at locations of the farm supply retail chain.

Plans included with the rezoning application show a proposed building more than 21,000 square feet, including a 2,050-square foot feed center, a fenced outdoor display area more than 18,000 square feet, and some 76 parking spaces.

Though this will be new for Columbia County, locations of the store, headquartered in Brentwood, Tenn., aren’t scarce in the CSRA. There are stores in Augusta on Bobby Jones Expressway, and sites in Waynesboro and Thomson and across the river in Aiken and North Augusta

The Columbia County Planning Commission is scheduled to the rezoning it during its meeting on Dec. 5.
