The Richmond County Coroner’s Office has confirmed a tragic traffic fatality that occurred Sunday on the entrance ramp from Gordon Highway to eastbound I-520.
According to Coroner Mark Bowen, authorities responded to the scene following a report of the accident. The incident involved a single vehicle that veered off the ramp and into a wooded area, where it rolled over. The driver, the only occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene at approximately 6:30 p.m. Sunday.
She was identified as Jeanna Jones, 56, from Burke County.
The Coroner’s Office is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. Further details will be released as they become available.
