I think one of the most underrated items at a craft store are the pre-made floral picks they offer. I use them all year round for a variety of uses, but especially at Christmas.

Let me share with you the variety of uses for these pre-made varietal small decorative floral picks such as these. Your family and friends will think you are very talented and have an eye for gathering themed details. All you have saved time and money!

If you don’t have any now, go to the craft stores after Christmas and enjoy the deep discounts. I usually stock up on these every January and use them the following year!

They incorporate a variety of textures and colors using leafy greens, maybe a pinecone or ornament, a sprig of fern or a twig or wooden stem. They pack a lot of punch for being so small.

You can use these picks in your Christmas tree. It makes your job much easier than having to find each individual element and place within your tree.

Place a pick from your ribbon on your gift packages. It gives great dimension and a lot of character!

Adding a pick among the books on your bookshelf adds a lot of Holiday punch!

If you add some picks among the green garland on your mantel of stair railing, your garland makes such a bolder statement.

Charcuterie boards are very popular. Lay a pick within or alongside the board for some Holiday cheer.

The stem of the pick can add in securing the arrangement. Sometimes you will need to bend the stem down and out of sight. And sometimes you need to snip the stem off.

Don’t hesitate to make your own picks. You can use floral tape to secure some small pieces together. Maybe even find some pine cones in your yard and hot glue a piece of wire that can be tied into a pick.

You can certainly make your pick out of fresh materials. It is no different than making a fresh boutonniere for a man in a bridal party…just make it bigger and fuller.
