When it comes to furniture or decor you always want the perfect fit. But what if you found the perfect piece that had a special function? I call that a win-win! I wanted to share with you some unique items that I have come across lately and installed in my clients homes.

Leather sofas are very popular right now. It is nice if there is a center console to hold your beverage, but that can look tacky, cheap and as a piece made for a media room, not your living room. Look at the arm of this sofa that pops out to hold your drink. It is like magic!

If leather isn’t your style you would choose a fabric option. However, a spilled drink or a dirty pet can cause havoc with your sofa. Here is a great option. A slipcovered sofa that doesn’t look like a loose throw with elastic! What is great about this is you can select your own fabric. Many of the fabrics can be washed in your washing machine. And when you get tired of your sofa in a few years, all you need is a new slipcover! There are many styles to select from and there are even chairs and ottomans to select from!

Talk about magic. Take a look at this cool table! There are many sizes to select from. You can leave them low to service a regular dining chair or you can crank it up to accommodate a counter or bar stool. I have two in my breakfast room. I use them daily at regular seating height. When I have a party I crank them up to bar height. They make great food tables! They are 30 inches round and easy to move around the room as needed.

You might be limited in your breakfast or dining area. Look at this table. It is rectangular to seat four people. But spin the top around and two wedges pop out and up to create a larger round table that could seat five or six people!

Maybe you would like to extend your dining table when you have family and friends over. Those traditional leaves can be bulky and difficult to add in, especially if you are trying to add it yourself. Here is a table where the leaves extend out from the bottom and then clicks into the end. I used a group of these tables at a restaurant along a long wall of seating banquets. When a large party needs to be seated the host doesn’t need to pull and push heavy tables together. The ends from one table to the other come out and create an extra long table!

Even outdoor furniture can be unique and have hidden details. This table here stores the leaf in the center underneath the two outer pieces. You pull the ends apart, pivot the leaf up and into place and then slide the ends back to meet the leaf! The ceramic top and aluminum base make it easy to use outdoors.

This sofa and ottoman are special in that the backs. arms and tables all fit into grommets. you can swap them around to make the arrangement perfect for your situation. Totally versatile! They even make a chair!

Here is a unique decor piece that I have in my home. This might look like a decorative vase, but with the click of a switch, a light turns on and this glass piece illuminates and makes an even bolder statement!
