Everyone loves a fun craft DIY. Here is one that can really make a statement and can also have a useful purpose!

I took a 1×2 piece of lumber and made a box using metal corner brackets on the ends. If you are handy, you drill some pilot holes and screw the ends together.

I then spraypainted the box. Consider what type of frame you will attach to the front or maybe your wall color to decide the best paint to use.

I then attached a saw tooth bracket at the center top on the back so that it can hang on the wall.

On this particular one, I added a cup hook at the center on the top piece and then I screwed a round grapevine wreath to the front.

Once hung on the wall, this becomes a lovely dimensional art piece that can house your keys. How many times do we misplace our key ring? If we had a designated spot by the garage door, we might be able to find them a little easier!

Let’s say we want to be a little more formal and need an interesting dimensional art piece as decor. I built a little larger box using a 1 x 3. and then painted the box to coordinate with the frame I will be attaching. I purchased an inexpensive 8 x 10 frame and then took off the back and the glass.

I added the saw tooth wall bracket, then hot glued the frame to my box frame. I added some decor on the dimensional frame shelf. There you have a sophisticated piece of decor that will surely make a statement!

These types of items could be hung alone, or added to a group of other decor. Don’t forget to group smaller items together to make a bigger statement!
