True love is available

Date: April 05, 2022

National Pet Day is coming up and the Augusta Animal Services has many ways to celebrate by taking a pet home permanently, for a short visit or even for a walk.

Through April 11, National Pet Day, adoption fees for dogs have been dropped to $10. All pets are spayed or neutered, microchipped and vaccinated. Dogs have also been tested for heart worms.

The shelter also has two programs to give prospective fur parents and animal lovers a chance to get to know available dogs better. There’s the Doggy Day program which allows people to take a dog home for a day or holiday to see how the prospective pup fits into the family. There’s also the Doggy Date program for anyone interested in taking a dog along for a walk.

Augusta Animal Services is located at 4164 Mack Lane. It is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday. The number is (706) 790-6836.
