Two McDuffie County 17 year-olds have been arrested in connection with Friday night’s shooting outside the Laney-Thomson football game.
According to the incident report, a Richmond County deputy was responding to a call at 1300 Laney Walker Boulevard when he heard shots fired. Another deputy responded to assist Richmond County Board of Education public safety officers who had detained the two subjects – Roosevelt Wendell Demmons, of Thomson, and Santana Valentino Mance of Dearing.

The board of education officers stated a fight had broken out at the game and spilled over into the parking lot, according to the report.
“Multiple firearms and shell casings were located in the area,” the report said.
Two vehicles were damaged in the incident. No injuries were reported.
The two teens have been charged with aggravated assault non-family gun, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, criminal damage to property in the first degree, weapons at school building/grounds/function and a misdemeanor charge of possession of a pistol or revolver for someone under the age of 18.
