Two suspects are now in custody following the fatal shooting of Raekwon Brinson, 28, outside the One Stop convenience store on Barton Chapel Road last Thursday.

Camron Jakai Brown, 20, turned himself in to authorities Tuesday morning. Last week, investigators also arrested 16-year-old Charles Reginald Harris III, who has been charged as a co-defendant in the murder case.

The shooting occurred around 2:52 p.m. on July 10 at 2382 Barton Chapel Road. Authorities say Brinson was exiting the store when Brown and Harris exited a vehicle, approached the entrance, and both pulled out firearms, shooting Brinson multiple times before fleeing the scene in the same vehicle.

A description of the suspect vehicle was distributed, and a deputy later spotted it traveling on Milledgeville Road near Willis Road. The deputy conducted a PIT maneuver and detained Javar Crockett, who was in possession of the vehicle. Crockett was transported to 400 Walton Way and provided investigators with information about the shooting, which was further supported by surveillance video.

Harris, identified as Crockett’s brother, was later confirmed as one of the shooters after being picked out of a six-person lineup by witnesses.

Brown had previously been described as armed and dangerous, with a warrant issued for murder. He turned himself in without incident.

The investigation is ongoing.
