Two children dead after Gloverville fire; Investigation underway

Two young sisters from Gloverville, ages 6 and 8, have died following a tragic residential fire early Monday morning.

The Aiken County Coroner’s Office responded to the incident at 3:02 a.m. after the fire, which was reported at approximately 12:50 a.m. at a residence on the 200 block of Pine Street. The sheriff’s office identified the address as 204 Oak Street.

The fire left four children and their mother needing medical attention. The two girls, Serahya Jordan, 6, and Deandolyn Jordan, 8, were both pronounced dead at Aiken Regional Medical Centers—Serahya at 1:57 a.m. and Deandolyn at 2:00 a.m. A third sibling was transported to Doctors Hospital in critical condition, while the mother and a fourth child were treated for non-life-threatening injuries at Aiken Regional Medical Centers.

Autopsies will be performed in Newberry to determine the cause of death. The investigation into the fire is ongoing, with the Aiken County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED) assisting the Coroner’s Office in their efforts.
