Two die in unrelated motorcycle crashes in Augusta

Two motorcyclists have died in unrelated crashes in Augusta over the weekend.

Issa Gladston Malik-Kahn, 27, of Augusta, was riding a motorcycle Friday night on Peach Orchard Road at Tobacco Road when he struck a pickup truck. He was rushed to Augusta University Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead at 10:37 p.m. Friday, according to Coroner Mark Bowen.

A friend of the victim said online that Malik-Kahn had just purchased the motorcycle a week ago.

Another motorcyclist died early Sunday when he lost control on Riverwatch Parkway just west of the canal. Jeremiah Alexander, 25, of Virginia was traveling westbound on Riverwatch when he crashed into a guardrail. He was pronounced dead at 3 a.m. Sunday, Bowen said.
