The health inspection world grades a score below 70 as failing, however, no restaurants, pools or hotels received a failing score from inspections on June 2–6.
Worst scores in this week’s health inspection
This week’s lowest health inspection score was a 74 earned by a Country Inn & Suites, located at 103 Sherwood Drive, in Augusta.
During the inspection, the inspector noted observing a lack of sanitization in the dishwasher, which resulted in a four-point deduction
“Observed dishwashing without sanitizing step. (Wash, rinse, sanitize and air dry utensils),” the report stated.
The inspector also noted witnessing food being improperly stored, resulting in a nine point reduction.
“Observed potentially hazardous food cold held at greater than 41 degrees Fahrenheit. (Yogurt in reach in on buffet line was 47F),” the report stated.
The inspector also deducted another point from the health score for noticing the previous health score not being displayed.
“Post most recent inspection,” the report stated.
Lastly, the inspector also deducted two points for seeing a broken sink.
“Repair leaky sink drain,” the report stated.
The second lowest score of the week was a 79 given to Knights Inn Pool, located at 210 Boy Socut Road, in Augusta.
The inspector deducted 15 points for noticing a lack of installation proof for pool equipment.
“Need proof of installation and expiration of drain cover: if not available, need to replace drain cover (last permitted May 2019),” the report stated.
During the inspection, the inspector deducted another 15 points for finding equipment needing to be replaced.
“Need new rope on throw ring. Rope must be 1/4 inch diameter (min.) and 1 1/2 X widest width of pool,” the report stated.
For needing pool markings, the establishment lost another four points.
“Need depth markings on pool face and deck. 4″ height, 1″ stroke at every 2′ change in depth,” the report stated.
The establishment also lost another two points for needing to post pool rules.
“Need pool rules signs as per chapter 511-3-5, rule 18(12 (page 87-88 in rule book),” the report stated.
Following the Knights Inn Pool inspection, the third lowest score of the week was an 81 given to China Wok, located at 2514 Tobacco Road, Unit D, in Hephzibah.
The inspector deducted four points for noticing employee drinks left on kitchen surfaces.
“Observed employee coffees left on prep surface,” the report stated. “Employee drinks need to be stored in designated area for employees.”
During the inspection, the inspector deducted four more points for noticing food stored improperly.
“Observed uncovered vegetables in [walk-in-cooler],” the report stated. “Keep all food covered while in storage.”
For finding additional food improperly stored, the establishment lost another three points.
“Observed food stored on floor in [walk-in-cooler] and [walk-in-freezer],” the report stated. “Keep all food at least 6 inches off the floor.”
The establishment another point for the establishment not posting the previous health inspection score.
“Observed most recent inspection not posted,” the report stated.
