Gold Cross EMS is partnering with both the City of Augusta and Columbia County to provide two walk-in clinics for people to receive the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccination this week.
On Wednesday, March 10, a clinic will be held at the Bessie Thomas Community Center located at 5913 Euchee Creek Drive in Grovetown from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Also, on Thursday March 11, a clinic will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Oasis Church off of Highway 88 in Hephzibah.
The clinic is free, and due to revised CDC guidelines, the clinic is available to seniors aged 65 and up, K-12 teachers, caregivers for the elderly, adults who are trach or bi-pap dependent and parents with children who have the following medical conditions: asthma, cystic fibrosis and diabetes.
However, Gold Cross Vice President Steven Vincent says that if there are leftover vaccines, no one will be turned away.

“Due to the short shelf life of the vaccine, if we still have some left on hand, we will vaccinate anyone who shows up,” Vincent says.
Those hoping for left over vaccines “will just have to wait in line until we determine if there are more vaccines left over,” Vincent said.
Gold Cross held a similar clinic in Harrisburg last week and delivered 120 vaccines. District 8 Commissioner Brandon Garrett was on hand at the clinic and says he was touched at how appreciative people were to be able to get the vaccine right in their own neighborhood.
“Many of the people told us that they had no way to travel all the way downtown,” Garrett says, “so it was great that we could bring the vaccine to them.”
Gold Cross says they will be working with both local governments to bring even more pop-up clinics as more vaccines come available.
