On Tuesday, Feb. 11, United Way of the CSRA will celebrate “211 Day” by hosting a free resource fair that is open to the public at the Augusta-Richmond County Public Library, located at 823 Telfair St.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., residents are invited to come out and learn more about available free and low-cost resources and support services in the area. Lunch and refreshments will also be provided to attendees.
“This event, hosted in partnership with 211, will provide a unique opportunity for individuals and families to connect with vital community resources,” according to a press release from the United Way of the CSRA.
While the United Way of the CSRA works to build a greater Augusta by focusing on the community’s “most pressing needs” and creating opportunities “for all to thrive,” 211 is a free, confidential helpline available to residents in the eleven Georgia counties and two South Carolina communities. During business hours, Monday – Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., this service is available by calling 2-1-1.
“211 Day is a wonderful opportunity for us to bring attention to our free 211 helpline, as well as showcase the many support services available right here in our community,” said Angela Collins, director of Community Impact at United Way of the CSRA.
211 Resource Fair attendees can expect to find information on services for veterans, family caregivers, food access, health and wellbeing, housing assistance and much more.
“We are excited to bring together local agencies and organizations to ensure residents have access to the resources they need to thrive,” said Collins.
