Next week there will be lane closures and a traffic shift in Columbia County.
The following intersections will be affected by the lane closures: Blackstone Camp, Sullivan Hartfield, Malone Way, Southern Pines, and Oleander Drive on starting on Wednesday, Aug. 28 from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. starting on Wednesday, Aug. 28
until to Saturday, Aug. 31. Expect delays. Please seek an alternate route if possible.
On Wednesday, Aug. 28, there will be a traffic shift due to the road widening project for Fury’s Ferry.
“All traffic lanes will shift from the existing pavement to the new pavement section on the north side of the right of way to allow road construction to continue. The traffic shift will begin from the Evans To Locks intersection and end at Millstone Drive,” said a press release from the county.
Motorists should expect delays, reduce their speed and exercise caution when driving in the area. The road work is weather permitting.
