The new Olive Garden in the Village at Riverwatch has an opening date, according to general manager Rachel Babcock.

In its meeting Tuesday afternoon, the Augusta Public Services Committee considered the Italian restaurant’s application to sell beer, wine and liquor at its location at 804 Cabela Drive.

The franchise location is scheduled to open on Nov. 27, Babcock said in the meeting. The committee voted to approve the liquor license application, which lists the license request as a transfer from restaurant #1102.

This refers to the former location at 2736 Washington Road, the parcel of which is currently owned by Berckman Residential Properties. Darden Restaurants, the Florida-based company which owns Olive Garden and several other chain restaurants such as LongHorn and Ruth’s Chris, sold the Washington Road property in August of last year, according to property records.

Darden submitted the plans for the Cabela Drive Olive Garden in spring of last year.
