The University of South Carolina Aiken (USCA) is preparing to celebrate 468 graduates during its annual commencement ceremony on Dec. 11.
The ceremony, which begins at 6 p.m. in the USCA Convocation Center, will recognize graduates across several disciplines, including 74 nurses, 81 scientists, 255 business leaders and entrepreneurs, 14 future educators, and 43 humanities and social science scholars.
During the event, Chancellor Daniel Heimmermann will present the Outstanding Senior Student Award to Taylor Joop, who will receive a bachelor’s degree in nursing, according to a press release from the university.
Doors open at 5 p.m. at the Convocation Center, located at 2049 Champion Way in Graniteville.
Media members interested in attending or requesting graduation statistics are encouraged to contact USCA spokesperson Angela Saxon.
According to the university, USCA enrolls about 4,000 students across more than 70 academic concentrations and draws students from nearly 40 states and more than 20 countries.
The regional public institution reports that more than 30% of undergraduates receive full tuition support and over 40 percent complete their degrees debt-free due to scholarships and financial aid.
