With summer in full swing, churches across the nation are getting ready for an annual family tradition of blending fun, friendship and gospel.
Known as Vacation Bible School over the years (VBS), a wide array of churches host this yearly event and center it around a summer theme, such as scuba diving or the beach.

Below is a list of Vacation Bible Schools being hosted in the CSRA.
Augusta/Richmond County:
- On June 9-13, the Our Redeemer Lutheran Church will host VBS from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. for those in Pre-K to fifth grade. Located at 402 Aumond Road, the church’s bible school will be beach themed and offer a meal at 5 p.m. To register a participant, CLICK HERE.
- From June 9-14, First Friendship United Methodist Church, located at 3027 Tobacco Road, will host a twist and turns themed VBS from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Open to Pre-K to sixth graders, the event will engage children in exciting games, snacks and an interactive bible study. - From June 10-14, Lakemont Presbyterian Church will host a jungle-themed VBS at 411 Pleasant Home Road from 8:50 a.m. to noon. Open for those as young as 4 years old up to fifth graders, children will learn about trusting the Bible, Noah’s Ark, Genesis, Revelation and more. - Trinity on the Hill’s space-themed VBS will be hosted on June 15-18 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 1330 Monte Sano Ave. Registration costs $20 for rising kindergarteners to fourth graders, and $30 for fifth and sixth graders. - From June 17-21, Miracle Baptist Church, located at 1308 Hephzibah Mcbean Road, will host a scuba-themed VBS from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Open to children ages 3 to high school, participants will be invited to adventure under the sea to learn about the gospel. - On June 23-27, Hillcrest Baptist Church will host a beach-themed VBS from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at 3045 Deans Bridge Road. - Silvercrest Baptist Church, located at 3431 Peach Orchard Road, will be hosting a beach-themed VBS on July 21-24 at 5:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. Participants will be invited to explore tide pools, fly kites and more while learning about the gospel. Columbia County:

- From June 16 to 21, Bellevue Baptist Church, located at 714 Reynolds Road, will host a beach-themed VBS from 5:45 p.m. to 8:15 p.m. Registration is open for children ages 4 to 16 at https://bellevuebc.com/vbs/register/. Throughout the week, the church will be collecting donations in hopes of reaching a $1,000 goal to help a missionary family currently in Kenya.
- Mosaic Church, located at 478 Columbia Road, will host a free cruise-themed VBS on June 17-20 from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Pre-K through rising sixth graders will be invited to follow the story of Paul’s missionary journeys from the book of Acts, while enjoying games, snacks, crafts and more. - From June 17-21, Kiokee Baptist Church will host a jungle-themed VBS from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at 2520 Ray Owens Road. Freely open to children who have completed K4 to fifth grade, the event will invite participants to explore sloths, butterflies, river dolphins, dart frogs and more while learning about Christ and the story of the Cross. - On July 15-19, Trinity Baptist Ministries Church will offer a space-themed VBS at 4594 Columbia Road from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Open to those as young as 4 years old to fifth graders, the event will take children on a cosmic journey while educating participants about the light of Jesus. - Sweetwater Baptist Church, located at 198 Sweetwater Road, will host a scuba-themed VBS on June 10-14 from 9 a.m. to noon. - From June 24-27, the First Baptist Church will host a kingdom-themed VBS from 9 a.m. to noon, at 602 Georgia Ave., for children who have completed 3K-fifth grade. Aiken County/South Carolina:
- South Aiken Presbyterian Church North Augusta will host a camp-themed VBS from June 8-12, at 1711 Whiskey Road, from 8:45 a.m. to noon.
