Vance’s Bakery Bar, the downtown dessert shop that offered cocktails along with confections, has permanently closed.
Owners Troy and Amy Adamo announced Monday afternoon on social media that they decided to close the eatery, effective immediately, “after much blood, sweat and tears.”
The couple launched the concept in 2021, after hosting pop-up events around town and ultimately leasing and renovating the space at 123 James Brown Blvd.
Its menu included creative infusions of pastries and baked treats with spirits, mixed drinks or craft beers: such as the Ric Rac Bread Pudding, a pound cake drizzled with caramel whiskey, cupcakes made with red wine, peach cobbler infused with peach tea vodka and an ice cream sundae with hazelnut liqueur on top.
The shop has even participated in downtown events, offering discounts during Camp Soul City, and being a destination on Augusta Adventure Tours’ haunted pub walk.
“Thank you, Augusta, for helping our dream come true,” said the Adamos in their social media post, expressing gratitude to its staff and its patronage. “Always support local.”
