The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will discuss two variance requests during the meeting on Tuesday.

The first is a variance request regarding the placement of buildings and structures for 725 Herrington Drive.

“The owners want relief for existing encroachment and that the building is already there and on a slab,” according to the agenda document.

Staff is recommending approval with several conditions. First is that the structure cannot be expanded further into the setback. If it is damaged and needs to be rebuilt, it will have to be relocated to outside of the setback. The reduction in the setbacks on the side and rear only applies to the current structure and an easement encroachment agreement will be required.

The second variance request is to the section for list of lot and structure requirements for 1007 Emerald Place. The applicant is asking for the variance for aa proposed accessory structure that would include an outdoor kitchen, half bath, storage space, and covered seating area.

Staff is recommending approval.

Commissioners will also discuss an alcoholic beverage license request from Vault 221 LLC, located at 1835 Appling Harlem road, to sell beer, wine, and distilled spirits for on premise consumption.

Staff is recommending approval.

The Columbia County Board of Commissioners will meet at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center Complex. To view the full agenda, visit columbiacountyga.gov.
