Veterans Day ceremonies coming to the CSRA

Local Veterans Day ceremonies are planned for next week in the CSRA, offering opportunities for residents to gather in remembrance and gratitude.

Grovetown ceremony set for Nov. 10

The City of Grovetown will host its annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, Nov. 10, beginning at 10 a.m. at Veterans Park, located at 103 Old Wrightsboro Road.

The ceremony will feature remarks from Pastor Elliott Norman of Clifford Memorial Presbyterian Church and Councilman Richard Bowman. A presentation of flags by the Grovetown High School JROTC Color Guard will also take place.

Residents, families, and veterans are encouraged to attend as the community honors those who have dedicated their lives to protecting freedom. Complimentary coffee from Salthill Farms and pastries provided by the city will be available while supplies last.

Veterans Day parade in downtown Augusta on Nov. 11

A Veterans Day parade will be held on Greene Street in downtown Augusta on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The parade will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. For more information, check out visitaugusta.com.

Evans ceremony planned for Nov. 11

On Veterans Day, VFW Post 12190 — The Sharon A. Lane Memorial Post will host a Veterans Day Ceremony at Memorial Garden Park, behind the Columbia County Library in Evans.

The ceremony will take place on Tuesday, Nov. 11, from 11 a.m. to noon. The ceremony will also feature guest speakers from Columbia County leadership and the veteran community, along with a moment of reflection to recognize the sacrifices made by those in uniform.

Augusta University to hold Veterans Day ceremony

Augusta University will hold Veterans Day celebration at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. The event will be held at the Maxwell Performing Arts Theater.
