Date: January 18, 2024

Columbia County authorities are asking for the public’s help in identifying this woman in the alleged theft of cashback money that another Walmart customer forgot to take last week at the market on South Belair Road.

Victim Sharlotte Gainous told authorities that she was inside the Walmart Neighborhood Market at 9:30 a.m. last Tuesday. She had a cash back of $60 at a self-checkout register.

“Sharlotte stated she accidentally left the money at checkout 39. Sharlotte stated she returned to Walmart and the money was gone and had not been turned in at customer service,” a report says. “Sharlotte stated she wishes to prosecute.”

A loss prevention officer was able to provide security camera footage on a disk.

Anyone who knows the suspect’s identity is asked to call the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office at 706-541-2800.
