Authorities are actively searching for Dalyn Elder, 20, who is wanted in connection with a violent shooting incident that occurred Tuesday night at the Super Express gas station, located at 1502 Central Avenue in Augusta.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office reports that the assault happened around 9 p.m., when Elder allegedly opened fire on a Honda Accord carrying a 20-year-old man and two women, both 31. The gunfire struck the car’s rear windshield and trunk, but miraculously, none of the passengers were injured.
Elder now faces multiple felony warrants, including three counts of aggravated assault, criminal damage to property, possession of a weapon, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Authorities warn that Elder should be considered armed and dangerous.
Investigators say he is known to frequent the Ellis Street and 15th Street areas and urge anyone with information to come forward.
In addition to the recent charges, Elder is also wanted on outstanding 2023 warrants, including charges for disrupting a public school, simple battery, obstruction of an officer, discharging a weapon in public, and probation violation.
Elder has a criminal record that includes a 2024 felony conviction for theft by receiving stolen property, for which he was sentenced to 45 days in custody and nearly 7 years probation. Just three months after that conviction, he was arrested again for theft by taking and obstruction, receiving a 5-month sentence and additional probation time.
