The Waynesboro Police Department is investigating a suspicious death that was discovered 11:21 a.m. Thursday, Jan 27. The body of a 38-year-old Black male was discovered in a parked car in the Pizza Hut parking lot located on North Liberty Street. The police are treating the death as suspicious; however, no possible cause of death has been released.
According to Burke County Coroner Val Prescott, his office is in custody of the body and no further details are available at the moment pending notification of next of kin.
