The crime map for the week of Feb. 23 to March 1 shows a total of 201 crimes that took place in Augusta. Crimes against business owners, such as shoplifting and forgery, have been eliminated.
The more common crimes reported concerned thefts. There were also 28 cases of property damage, 12 burglaries and 14 vehicle break-ins reported.
Violent crimes were mostly misdemeanor battery cases including 28 family violence incidents. There were 76 battery and assaults reported through the week. There were also two armed robberies and two aggravated assault cases reported.
