Western Sizzlin’ correction

Date: May 10, 2025

On April 29, the Augusta Press ran a story by Scott Hudson about a murder involving the owners of the former Western Sizzlin’ restaurant on Walton Way. Hudson interviewed Debra Vosler for that story, daughter of the murdered woman.

According to Vosler, much of the story is incorrect, including the allegation of an affair by Nick Pascarella with Dolores Shamblin-Welch, that Nora Pascarella was taking painkillers while immoble from an accident, autopsy findings of death by accidental drug overdose for Shamblin-Welch, an alleged confession that included method and motive for the murder, and that Vosler feared telling the story of her mother’s murder.

The story has been removed from the Augusta Press site. The Augusta Press regrets the error.
