Westmont Elementary School students will remain at the Columbia County Performing Arts Center next week.

In a letter sent out from the school to parents on Thursday, Aug. 8, it said students will remain at the PAC from Monday, Aug. 12  – Thursday, Aug. 15.

“We continue to work closely with our contractor who has informed us that final inspection of our new building could take place early next week,” the letter said. “However, due to the inclement weather impacting our area we do not have a definite move-in date. With this very fluid situation we will continue to bring you updates as quickly as information becomes available.”

Students can continue their classes either in-person or learn from home. Students who are self-contained will remain in their current classrooms, the letter said. Buses will still transport students, grab-and-go breakfast and lunch continue and before and after school will also take place at the PAC.

“We are so grateful to all of our students and families who have shown their support through positivity and teamwork to make this a memorable learning experience. Our incredible staff will continue to work hard to enrich our students’ learning no matter where they are. Thank you, again, for your patience and support,” the letter said.
