What Happened at Evans Cinema 14 on Sunday Night? Here’s the Answer…

Columbia County authorities cleared the Evans 14 Cinemas on Sunday night after a bomb threat.

A sheriff’s report gives the details about the incident at the movie theater at 9 p.m. Sunday at 4365 Towne Centre Drive in Evans:

“Dispatch received a call from the Georgia Crisis Center who stated they were speaking with a subject who stated his name was ‘Danny’ (NOD) over internet chat messaging. Danny stated that there was a homemade bomb inside the theater hidden in a popcorn box that would explode in twenty minutes.

“Deputies arrived on scene and immediately evacuated all occupants inside the building. I made contact with Mr. Jones, the manager of the listed business who stated that they have not received any threats recently. 

“Richmond County explosives canine arrived on scene and cleared the building without locating any devices. Columbia County investigator arrived on scene, and the scene was turned over to them.”
