What’s happening this week in Columbia County government this week?

The Columbia County Development and Planning Services and Management and Internal Services committees will meet Tuesday, May 14. 

On the agenda for the DPS Committee is the 2024 Local Road Assistance Administration (LRA) Application with Georgia Department of Transportation. According to the agenda document, Columbia County has been allotted $2,270,436.26, which does not require a

Match, in the LRA funds in the fiscal year 2024 budget.

The list of projects that will be submitted are: Gibbs Road ($368,280), Apostolic Lane ($83,050), Apostolic Drive ($134,190), Laurel Drive ($216,090), Bartram Ridge ($425,650), Bartram Trail Club Drive ($340,475), Brandywine Drive ($95125), Prescott Drive ($62,530), Jade Drive ($220,800), Opal Court ($97,370) and Rollo Domino Circle ($323,500).

On the agenda for the MIS committee is several contracts and agreements, including an agreement with the Junior Achievement Discovery Center and Family Y. According to the agenda document, staff is recommending approval of the service agreements with Junior

Achievement Discovery Center and Family Y for $2,250 each

The committees will meet starting at 8:30 a.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center complex. The full agendas can be found at columbiacountyga.gov.

The Columbia County Library Board will also meet on Tuesday, May 14 at 11:30 a.m. at the Evans Library. There isn’t a lot on the agenda, but under unfinished business are several books p for reconsideration. The Columbia County Planning Commission will meet on Thursday, May 16 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium at the Evans Government Center Complex. There are several public hearings for rezonings scheduled.
