Harlem High School Senior running back Jason Williams found the endzone three times, leading the Bulldogs past Midland Valley 28-7 Friday.
On the Bulldogs first drive of the game, Harlem quarterback Ryan Newman connected with wide receiver Johnathan Howard for a 5-yard touchdown. Harlem kicker Simon Branford added the extra point to make the score 7-0 with 9:48 left in the first quarter.
Harlem’s defense was also strong early, forcing an interception with seven minutes left in the first quarter.

Harlem running back Jason Williams scored his first touchdown of the game midway through the first quarter, making the score 14-0.
Williams broke off for 40 yards and another touchdown with 11:14 left in the second quarter. Branford converted his third extra point game, and the Bulldogs went into the half with a 21-0 lead.
The rain began to come down in the second half, which resulted in less scoring through the game’s end.

Midland Valley looked to score after forcing an interception at midfield, but Harlem stuffed the Mustangs’ offense on four downs inside the 5-yard line with nine minutes left.
Midland Valley quarterback TJ McElmurray put the Mustangs on the board with a pass to Antrone Butler. Kicker Peyton Waters added the extra point to make the score 21-7 with 4:46 left in the game.

The Mustangs also recovered the onside kick, giving them a chance late in the game, but they would not be able to take advantage.
Williams shut the door with his third touchdown run of the game with 1:34 left in the fourth quarter. This is Williams second week in a row he has scored three touchdowns.
Harlem (3-1) will travel to play Aquinas (3-0) next Friday, Sept. 16. Midland Valley (2-2) will be at home against Westwood (0-4) also next Friday night.
